What is Techapalooza?
This concert event brings together 5 to 7 bands comprised of talented musicians who work in the I.T. sector. Bands perform for an enthusiastic crowd that votes for their favourite band to be crowned “Fan Favourite.” …all while rockin’ the night away to raise money for CancerCare Manitoba Foundation (CCMF).
When did this all start?
When Techapalooza was first held in 2012, we had a sell-out crowd of over 300 and raised $25,000 for CCMF. Due to the global pandemic, Techapalooza 2021, was held online in a March Madness style bracket tournament! Bands had their favourite 2020 tracks pitted against each other, and winners (determined through ‘Groupie’ donations) moved to the next round.. We enjoyed 6 weeks of band battles, and we raised $54,000 for CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. Now that we have a roarin’ return to live entertainment, we are targeting to raise $110,000 to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

It was great to see everyone in 2021! Thank you to everyone that came out or donated to support the fight against breast cancer. In 2021 we had over 270 people on over 225 motorcycles cruise the Manitoban Highways to raise over $38,500. Thank you for making a big difference!

as we celebrate strong, incredible women whose presence brings a light and love to our lives. CancerCare Manitoba Foundation is excited to be hosting the Guardian Angel Benefit – in person.
This year, guests are invited to share a cup of tea on Sunday afternoon with our sisters, mothers, daughters, aunts, grandmothers, and friends. In continuing with tradition, the afternoon will feature entertainment and a fashion show with cancer survivors modeling the latest clothing and accessories.
For three decades, thousands of Guardian Angels and supporters have gathered together to enrich the lives of Manitoba women affected by cancer and to allow for the best possible patient journey. The funds raised have supported research into women’s cancer, clinical trials ensuring tomorrow’s treatments today, and the best possible physical and emotional care. These funds have changed lives.
Join us as we sip decadent teas and celebrate the women we know and love who are facing, or have faced, a cancer diagnosis. With your gift, the lives of women you know will be made better, and longer.
