Call a Foul on Cancer Pink Whistle Campaign
Feb 1 all-day

The ‘Call A Foul On Cancer’ Pink Whistle Campaign strives to raise funds for CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. Participating MABO Officials will be wearing ‘Pink Whistles’ for the month of February to show their support during all levels of basketball in the province.

With your help and generosity, our donations through this campaign help fund cancer research, patient care, and treatments in Manitoba. Each year, more and more Manitoba men, women, and children are winning their battles against the disease with the aid of CancerCare Manitoba oncologists, nurses, radiation therapists, and allied health care workers. Knowing that 1 in 2 Manitobans will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, it’s distressing to think that the disease will most likely affect a loved one or close friend. Together we can help Manitobans living with cancer and relieve the effects on those individuals and their families!

Alex Long’s Double Mount Everest Challenge @ Winnipeg Winter Club
Feb 1 @ 9:00 am – Feb 2 @ 10:00 pm

Last Year, WWC member Alex Long climbed the distance of Mount Everest on the Jacob’s Ladder in one day! He did this challenge for fun as part of the WWC February Fitness Challenge. The original challenge was to climb the distance of Mount Everest on the Jacob’s Ladder throughout the entire month. This year, Alex wants to climb the mountain 2 times in 2 days! What an incredible feat this will be! Alex is doing this to raise funds for CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, a charity near and dear to his and many of our hearts.

CancerCare Manitoba Foundation is the only organization exclusively fundraising for CancerCare Manitoba. While CancerCare Manitoba works in partnership with Manitoba Health, some programs and services may not be eligible for government funding. CancerCare Manitoba Foundation raises funds to bridge this gap and help deliver the best research, patient care, treatment and support for all Manitobans and their families living with cancer.

Each year more than 6,000 Manitobans receive a cancer diagnosis. Your continued support helps CancerCare Manitoba and its partners prepare for an estimated 50% increase in the number of people diagnosed and living with cancer over the next decade.

By supporting me with a donation, you are helping to support CancerCare Manitoba in its work to change lives and change the course of cancer in our province.

Every donation -no matter how big or small- is critical as we work together to stay ahead of this disease.

Thank you for your consideration.
