Pitch for Gitch @ Shaw Park
Sep 1 @ 1:00 pm

Thrive Thrift Shop and Winnipeg Goldeyes are pleased to present the Pitch for Gitch promotion at Shaw Park on Sunday, September 1st when the Goldeyes take on the Sioux Falls Canaries 1:00 pm.

The Pitch for Gitch promotion will raise money for CancerCare Manitoba Foundation while also providing underwear to those in need via donation. “I think it surprises people that others are lacking or can’t afford underwear,” said Kristy Muckosky, Thrift Shop Coordinator at Thrive Thrift Shop. “We have people coming out of homelessness, domestic abuse, house fires, mental health crisis, and youths who ask us quite a lot for underwear. We receive donations but have a hard time keeping underwear in stock.”

The Goldeyes and Thrive Thrift Shop will collect donations of new underwear at Shaw Park on September 1st and provide these donations to Thrive Thrift Shop for those who need it most.

The Goldeyes will also be selling Goldeyes Boxer Shorts to fans at the game for $5. All cash proceeds from the shorts will be donated to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation while the boxer shorts will be donated to the Thrive Thrift Shop. Fans who purchase boxer shorts for donation will receive a Goldeyes Souvenir Pack.

Advance Tickets for the September 1 game are on sale now starting at just $11 each. More ticket options and complete details can be found at Goldeyes.com/tickets.

Cancer does not discriminate and some of the most tragic cases involve children and young adolescents.

Every September thousands of paddlers hit the Red River in support of raising funds for CancerCare Manitoba Foundation and Children’s Hospital Foundation. The over $1.5 million that has been raised since 2012 is dedicated to in-hospital care and pediatric clinical trials that help improve outcomes for our most vulnerable patients.
