Thank you for your support of Manitobans affected by cancer. Please see below for frequently asked questions on how the 2024 tax extension could affect your donation.

Tax receipts for the 2024 tax year

The Government of Canada has announced it will amend the Income Tax Act due to the 2024 Canada Post mail stoppage, as follows:  Donations received January 1, 2025 to February 28, 2025, will be eligible for either 2024 or 2025 tax filing, according to the preference of the donor.

Will this impact monthly donations?

Not unless the donor contacts us at CCMBtaxreceipts@cancercare.mb.ca or 204-784-2779 to obtain a separate tax receipt for January and February 2025 which would be eligible for either the 2024 or 2025 tax year. Donors who do not indicate this option as their preference will receive one consolidated tax receipt for all of their monthly donations made in 2025 in early 2026, as per usual practice.
