In 2013, Amrit Bharj gathered members of the Sikh community and fellow students to raise money for breast cancer awareness. The Sikh community had lost such beautiful, significant, women to breast cancer, and the goal was to raise as much money as possible to honor their lives. In a very short period of time, the university students were able to raise over $7,000! In addition to this, the students put together a student lungar at their local temple, and did a bake sale as well, with all proceeds donated to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

This year, the goal and plans are bigger and better. The students are reaching out to the community once again to raise money for such a wonderful cause.

This year’s goal is to raise awareness for breast cancer, and reach a goal of $10,000!

It is also going to be done in loving memory of the prominent female figures that once gave back to others the same way these students are trying to do so. Your support will truly mean the world to them! Any amount goes a long way.

The three ladies below that lost their battle to cancer were truly amazing women. They impacted many lives, and had the biggest hearts. These women can be described as exceptionally strong, understanding, and filled with an abundant amount of love. They will always continue to hold a special place in the hearts of the young individuals thriving to fundraise for their cause. They are also dearly missed by family and friends.  Please help these students fundraise for their angels above – Satinder Kaur Roopra, Bhajan Kaur Rehal, & Kamaljit Kaur Bhullar.

Thank you so very much for your support. Together we can make a difference.
