MPA is extremely proud to be partnering with CancerCare Manitoba Foundation Patient and Family Support Services to raise funds to provide physiotherapy treatment for cancer survivors. Funds raised from this event will go directly to enhancing physiotherapy services to be able to reach more Manitoba cancer survivors to improve their quality of life.

The keynote speakers for the evening are Dr. Marshall Pitz, Dr. Barbara Shay, PhD, and Liz Hammond, PhD student. They will be presenting the highlights of their cutting edge research entitled “Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy and the Potential Role for Physiotherapy” and “Electro Acupuncture for Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN)”. Some of which was recently showcased in the Winnipeg Free Press article “Striving to Survive… and Thrive”. Their research aims to improve patient outcomes by minimizing long term nerve damage induced by chemotherapy or operative treatments.

Help us make this event a success for cancer survivors in Manitoba. Donations of any denomination are greatly appreciated. Please call the MPA office at (204) 925-5701 to make a donation or for sponsorship inquiries.
