It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Loren Dyck. In the coming days, and during our 20Km walk, each step we take, we will take to show that we continue to fight that fight he started on March 9th.
Understanding a loss of this magnitude is nearly an impossibility. Losing a loved one is never easy, but when a light such as Loren's goes out, it feels as though the whole world is thrown into darkness.
He was filled with love, laughter, joy and courage, and is a shining example of how one should live, and die.
Last night, I told him we would find a cure for this awful disease. We will.
Thank you to everyone for their thoughts, well wishes and prayers. Please continue to keep Ali, Brynlee, Cammie, Mike and the rest of their family and friends in mind during this difficult, difficult time.
With no way round but through, we wish them peace in their grief and healing.
Thank you
**Update**
This team was formed on March 9th, days after learning Loren Dyck was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His 3 daughters and son-in-law are walking in support of a great man with great courage. He is finding it more difficult these days, and we as a team ask you to please include him and his family in your prayers and/or thoughts. It takes immeasurable courage to face this disease with dignity and strength. We all hope for a cure, and we hope for peace. Please do what you can to ensure one day, no one else has to face the challenges this man and his family are currently facing.
It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do.
~Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird,
Chapter 11, spoken by the character Atticus
Thank you,

We are a diverse group of people. We are mothers, brothers, sisters, uncles, daughters, sons and wives. We are home makers, burlesque dancers, coaches, rockers and executives. We are an eclectic mix of women and men who celebrate each others joys, and mourn each others losses. We cry tears of happiness, joy and sadness for each other, the family we have chosen for ourselves.
We are strong, gorgeous, funny, caring, wild, and are hell bent on finding a cure.
We have all been touched by Cancer in some capacity. Some of us are survivors, some of us have lost loved ones, and in March of 2010, some of us learned that a member of our family had been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
We are walking in memory of those we have lost, as a show of strength to those still fighting, and a sign of hope to those who are at risk.
Together, we can help make Cancer, history.
